In addition, you will need a file in the GLOBAL directory called tsection.dat which can be downloaded from many sources such as. \projets\ OpenRails\MyRoute that I use for my experimental routes and this is where the GLOBAL and ROUTES directory are on my installation. I have a directory in my computer documents directory called. In order for TSRE5 to get started, you will need a simulator root directory with at least a GLOBAL and a ROUTES directory. You can get the DLL from the OpenAL directory on the download site. Another issue you may run into is that there is a missing DLL on your machine. You will likely not want the win32 version, and you may end up with issues if you load that one. Using the instructions in the TSRE site, download the executable to get started. There was also a daily Rock Island Passenger train on that route, but that is now long gone. The line is now operated by Iowa Interstate Railroad and has only a small percentage of the freight traffic that I saw when I was younger. I lived just a few hundred feet from the Rock Island Lines track that went between Rock Island Illinois to Des Moines, Iowa and had a lot of mixed freight traffic. For me, I choose the town of Moscow, Iowa in the United States, which is where I lived when I was a teenager. My recommendation is that you start your route from somewhere that is of interest to you.
